Multi-cell models of human brain energy metabolism
This page contains the models published in Lewis et al., Nature Biotechnology (2010). As future updates and improvements are made, they will be posted here. These models contain the following 6 compartments: e-blood/endothelium, cA-astrocyte cytosol, mA-astrocyte mitochondrion, I-interstitium/synaptic cleft, cN-neuron cytosol, mN-neuron mitochondrion. Each network in the table below has been constrained using the parameters detailed in the manuscript supplementary tables. Two primary papers were used for the cerebral metabolic rates: 1, 2. Addition cerebral metabolic rates were used, and citations are detailed in the supplementary material.

Additional Notes
The units for all fluxes and bounds in the models should be umol/g wet brain/min. Supplementary tables with model parameters, citations, etc., can be downloaded here.
